Obituary of Helen Maxine "Pudge" Alexander

Helen M. Moedl died August 18, 1999 in a health care center in Rockford, Illinois.  
She was born on November 3, 1913 in Cora, Wyoming. She attend Rock Springs High School where she graduated in 1933.
Together Helen and her husband, Arthur, owned and operated the Paramount Drug and Dry Goods Store in Lyman from 1936, when they purchased the store, until June 28, 1977 when Arthur died.  Helen continued to operate the store alone another 18 years until 1995 when her health problems caused her to give up the business.
In August, 1991, during the "Capitol for a Day" ceremonies in Lyman, Helen was honored and presented with a plaque of commendation from Governor Sullivan and the Town of Lyman for operating the same business, in the same building for 55 years. She continued to run the business another four years for a total of 59 years.
Much of Helens lifetime was spent serving her customers, many of whom were her special friends. She had been living the past four years with her daughter and family in Rockford, Illinois.  She is survied by her daughter Mrs. Robert (Shirley) Moncur of Rockford, Illinois; sister: Gloria Lozier, of Casper, Wyoming; grandsons, Brian (Roxie) Moncur, Orem, Utah; Michael (Audra) Moncur, Roscoe, Illinois: Christopher Moncur, LDS missionary in Uruguay; granddaughter: Karen (Eric) Jensen, Dousman, Wisconsin, great grandchildren: Rob, Casey and Jacob Moncur, Orem, Utah: Alicia, 
Tyler and Lindsey Moncur, Roscoe, Illinois: Cody and Jourdon Jensen, Dousman, Wisconsin.
She is preceded in death by her husband, and infant daughter, Thelma, her parents, five brothers:  Lloyd Curtis "Shimmey" Alexander: Earl Eugene " Tuff" Alexander: Lawrence William "Jack" Alexander: Robert Franklin Alexander: Charles Herbert "Tige" Alexander: and one sister Thelma Grace Allen.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 27 in the Lyman LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
