Pioneer Resident Dies at Burris Last Sunday

Emily C. Alexander, wife of E. E. Alexander of Burris, on upper Wind river, passed away at her home Sunday, January 4th, at 1:45 a.m. of asphyxiation from aneurysm of Aorta. Funeral services were held from the home at Burris, with Rev. Jenkins of the Congregational Church of Lander, officiating. Interment was made in the family plot on the Alexander ranch. A large group of friends of deceased attended the last sad rites. Pall bearers were members of the state highway department in the county and a few close friends of the family.

Emily C. Alexander was born Dec. 31, 1875 in Germany. She came to the United States in 1883. She moved to Casper in 1900 where she made her home until 1920, when she moved to Burris. 

Deceased is survived by her husband and a son Joe. One child, a girl, died several years ago. She has a sister, Mrs. B. B. Carroll of Casper who with her son and daughter were present at the funeral. Another sister resides in Iowa and a brother in Denver.

Mr. Alexander is postmaster at Burris, and also holds a position with the highway department in maintaining a stretch of the highway in his immediate territory.

The Davis Mortuary of Riverton had charge of the funeral arrangements.
